Wig Wisdom- Vol. III

Wig Wisdom- Vol. III

In the last decade, there has been a rise in the number of women embracing the versatility that comes with wearing wigs. A lot of headway has been made in the wig industry, bringing to reality a lot of women's hair dreams.

However without proper care or selection, these hair pieces can quickly become a nightmare.

So if you’re interested in rocking a wig right and you want to know the little details that make or break your wig experience, here are a few helpful tips to get you started:

DO'S:

Personalize your looks

There is a style for every woman, choose styles that compliment you and you feel the most confident wearing. Your confidence will make your look all the more beautiful when wearing a wig!

Choose a natural hair line

Yes it's a wig but do we really want everyone to know it's a wig? I'm guessing the answer is, NO. It's important to ensure your natural hair is neatly tucked away, aligning the front of your wig with your natural hairline. This will achieve a seamless look.

Care for Your Wig

I can't stress this enough! No matter how great the quality of your hair extensions/ wigs are, they need to be properly cared for if they're going to last long. Caring for your wig helps to prolong its life and keep it looking fresh!

Choose a Complementary Colour

Pay attention to your skin tones. Keep in mind to choose a colour that is going to match your skin tone.

DON'TS:

Wear a tight wig

Ensuring a perfect fit for your wigs is very important. Don't wear a wig that's too tight. It comes with a great level of discomfort. You develop headaches, and you can also lose your edges.

Wear Your Wig All day

Your scalp needs to breathe! It’s important to take your wig off so that your scalp and own hair can breathe, as well as then being able to look after your wig and your natural hair properly.

Use Excessive Heat

Heat can damage the wig just like it would your own hair. If you’re curling or straightening your wig on a regular basis, use a hair protection spray.Â
